Necaxa’s bus catches fire while taking players back to hotel

September 9, 2017

The Liga MX side had a frightening ride back to their hotel in Monterrey

Nexaca’s bus had smoke and flames coming out of its back end as it carried players back to the team hotel ahead of their match against Monterrey. An electrical malfunction caused the scary sight and forced the bus to pull over midway through the journey, according to a statement from the club. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but players had to take taxis (that were not on fire) the rest of the way back to the hotel.

Meanwhile, Friday night’s match between Atlas and Tigres had to be postponed because the screen above the pitch was too low. Seriously. That was the reason.

It’s never boring in Liga MX.
