Sacachispas arrive for Copa Argentina match with plastic swords, shields and gladiator helmets

Your favorite Argentine lower division club brings back the props

Last season, the world fell in love with Argentine club Sacachispas when they ran onto the pitch for a Copa Argentina match wearing superhero masks. It ended up working for them, so they decided to dip back into their costume chest last week.

Facing Sarmiento de Junin in the Copa Argentina round of 32, Sacachispas ran out of the tunnel wielding plastic swords and shields and wearing gladiator helmets while their opponents tried not to pay them any mind.

Sacachispas took a team photo with their shields up and seemed to be having a grand old time. Until they lost 3-1.

I guess superheroes are more intimidating than gladiators.
