Overhead kicks can be dangerous. This was proven by Shanghai Shenhua’s Li Jianbin, who obliterated his teammate’s face with one during a 3–0 win against Changchun Yatai.
Xiong Fei, who was on the receiving end of the overhead face kick had to be stretchered off since Jianbin almost certainly drove his nose into his body. Upon falling to the ground on top of one another, Jianbin was kind enough to cradle his teammate’s broken head, though. Which was sweet.
Jianbin hurt his foot on his teammate’s skull, so he will probably be a little more aware of his surroundings next time. Still, be careful, Tim Cahill.
This has been the Dirty Tackle of the Day: a chronicling of unfortunate events.
