Andrea Pirlo’s New Sandwich Tastes Like Greatness

August 18, 2015

If we know one thing to be true, it’s that all meals should be as scrumptious as Pirlo’s free kicks

[H]ere in the United States, there’s an unwritten rule that requires famous athletes to have delicious food items named in their honor.

Andrea Pirlo was probably unfamiliar with this tradition when he joined New York City FC, but that’s no longer the case. We’ve teamed up with New York’s №7 Sub to introduce a sandwich named after the Italian playmaker — behold, The Pirlo.

Yes, those are blueberries — pickled blueberries, to be exact. They complement the Genoa salami, fresh mozzarella, and fried zucchini that make up the rest of the sandwich, which was developed by №7 chef Tyler Kord. The best part? All purchases of The Pirlo include a free copy of Howler (while supplies last!).

Check out №7 Sub in Manhattan and Brooklyn. This is what greatness tastes like.
