Apparently overhead kicks and goalkeepers go together like peanut butter and jelly…who knew?
In a match between South African clubs Orlando Pirates and Baroka FC, the unthinkable happened: a goalkeeper scored a last-second bicycle kick to salvage a 1–1 draw.
Down one after a late first half goal by Orlando’s Justice Chabalala, Baroka FC were in dire need of a last-second chance to draw their Wednesday night match.
With the five minutes of added time nearly up and an opportune corner kick, Baroka elected to call up their keeper for the final play of the match.
As the ball was centered into the box, Pirates goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane was able to parry the ball towards the edge of the box, bouncing over the head of Baroka’s goalkeeper Oscarine Masuluke.
Immediately after the bounce, Masuluke got on his bike and drove home the equalizer, creating an enormous uproar among his team and home supporters.

Following the extraordinary goal, fans were left wondering an important question: Will Masuluke receive his very own upside down kit like fellow biking enthusiast Moussa Sow?
We’ll have to wait and see.
