Adidas misspells Colombia on promotional material

Seriously, @adidasfootball – IT'S COLOMBIA, not Columbia! Colossal mistake for such a brand. Unacceptable @adidasCO pic.twitter.com/Xvapv2i2RD

The comedy of errors related to Copa America Centenario apparently extends far beyond national anthem goof-ups.
First we have the case of Colombia kitmaker Adidas, who were so convinced that Colombia was spelled with a “u” that they made the mistake both on in-store posters and on their website. Though the digital evidence of this was largely cleaned up once the above tweet started getting shared, the URLs not only show the original error, but the fact that they’ve been making it since 2014.

It’s unclear whether Adidas’ U.S. division or the German home office is to blame for all this, but Copa America social media staff made sure it wasn’t the only Colombia related mistake spotted on the day.
Another gaffe. I'm beyond embarrassed at this point. It's inexcusable. Via @JuanG_Arango #CA100 pic.twitter.com/eV9X5LHkZg

For the record, that’s Costa Rica’s Joel Campbell, not Colombia’s Juan Cuadrado pictured there.
And to think we’re only midway through the group stage.
UPDATE: Adidas has apologized for their poor spelling. From ESPN FC:
The company, which has its North American headquarters in Portland, Oregon, said in a statement Tuesday: “We value our partnership with the Colombian Football Federation and apologize for our mistake. We removed these graphics and are quickly installing new versions today.”
