Lynn Williams held the record for four whole days
Houston Dash striker Kealia Ohai made her international debut in the 81st minute of the U.S.’s friendly against Switzerland and 48 seconds later, she scored to cap off a 5–1 win. In doing so, she set a new record for the fastest U.S. women’s national team debut goal.
Ohai breaks a record Lynn Williams held for all of four days. Williams also scored against Switzerland, but she did it in a leisurely 49 seconds. If you’re not good at math, that’s just one second slower.
Making Ohai’s record all the more impressive is the fact that she’s legally blind in her right eye. I couldn’t score a goal in 48 seconds with perfect vision in both eyes, so I’m struggling to comprehend this.

Before Ohai entered the match, Carli Lloyd scored twice and her first was characteristically brilliant. Take a look.
