The questionable offseason eating habits of professional footballers

People often fill their free time with food and footballers are no different

The offseason means less dietary scrutiny for many professional footballers. And it turns out that, when left to their own devices, they eat some pretty weird shit.

First we have West Brom keeper Ben Foster eating something normal, but in a profoundly weird way. He tweeted a photo of him holding a handful of peanuts alongside a bag of peanut M&M’s, indicating that he eats the chocolate shell off them and holds the remaining nuts like a sociopath.

Foster asked his followers if he’s the only who buys a bag of peanut M&M’s and then just eats the chocolate and keeps the nuts as a souvenir of his madness and I can only hope the answer is that yes, he is the only one.

Goalkeepers are insane and this is proof.

Next we have Southampton’s Manolo Gabbiadini. His new wife, Martina Rubini, shared a photo of them cutting their wedding cake and, well, have a look.

If Gabbiadini shows up to preseason weighing 400 lbs. it’ll be because he had two slices of this cake. That thing is the greatest threat to human survival right now.

Finally, there’s Peter Crouch. As he gets up in years, it becomes more and more important to maintain a healthy diet year-round. No more nachos for him. He proved he’s taking this seriously by sharing a photo of himself eating some leafy greens.

Well done, Peter.
