Sampdoria’s owner might be a crazed hobo
December 9, 2014
Earlier this year, Sampdoria were bought by a man named Massimo Ferrero. He is a film producer and he is wonderfully odd. Every time the TV cameras cut to him during a match it looks as if he’s high on PCP and has no idea where he is.
All you really need to know about him, though, is that he loves scarves, which both vex and empower him. Exhibit A…
And Exhibit B…

Sampdoria are currently fourth in Serie A after beating Verona 3–1 on Monday. Their success might be entirely due to their opponents’ very real fear of being stabbed by Ferrero with a prison shank at any given moment, though.
