The second leg of the CONCACAF Champions League tie between Club America and the Seattle Sounders got a bit bloody when Rubens Sambueza stepped on Clint Dempsey’s face.

To be fair, Dempsey did grab Sambueza’s other leg after getting tripped and the referee decided not to book anyone (perhaps as revenge for Dempsey’s violation of the refereeing brotherhood last year). Dempsey was left with a cut near his eye that could have been much worse given that his face was used as a door mat.
