DTotD: BATE Borisov captain taken down by cheerleader

April 28, 2015

Dzmitry Likhtarovich led his BATE Borisov side to a 2–0 victory over Belarusian Premier League rivals Gomel on Saturday, but not before suffering an embarrassing skirmish with one of the team’s cheerleaders.

As he concluded the pre-match handshakes and went to join his team in a huddle, the 37-year-old captain was felled by a young girl carrying a flag. Presumably, this was some kind of karmic retribution for Jason Witten’s famous cheerleader take-down.

Unlike any player you’ve seen in a Clasico in the past five years, it was good to see Likhtarovich quickly get up and make absolutely no fuss.

This has been the Dirty Tackle of the Day: a chronicling of unfortunate events.
